Daily Success 2/18/2013 – I was literally eating myself into an early grave.
Every New Year’s, I would say my New Year’s Resolution was to lose weight. But I never followed through—until this past year. I was a new mother. I was totally overweight. I had no energy, no confidence, and no self-esteem. I had headaches every day. So what would I do? Turn to food.
I was literally eating myself into an early grave. Until I made my New Year’s Resolution last year and followed it by starting P90X. I loved that P90X is a routine, sets a schedule so you have something daily to look forward to. It changes daily and it’s fun. Also, the meal plan and recipes kept my eating on track.
And when I started adding Shakeology, I gained a ton of energy, could sleep better, and felt like I could focus better. Don’t get me wrong, there were tons of days when I felt like giving up, but being in a Challenge Group helped me keep up—those people were there to support me, give me courage and inspiration.
And this time it worked. Thanks to P90X and Shakeology as well as TurboJam and TurboFire, I kept my Resolution. I lost well over 100 lbs. I have more energy, more confidence, I haven’t used pills for my headaches, my body doesn’t hurt anymore, my blood pressure and cholesterol are the best they’ve ever been— and I can run and play with my son without pain!

Motivation Morning 2/18/2012 – Your best body isn’t fantasy
Weekly Newsletter – Planning, snacking, thinking and Throwing it out!!!
Planning, snacking, thinking and Throwing it out!!! Getting on a eating schedule is one of the main challenges not only for those that are trying to lose weight but also for the people that are trying to maintain or even gain muscle. There are a few things that make this difficult but the one that people seem to have the hardest time with is snacking!! We tend to snack for a few reasons. Our bodies need more food due to blood sugar issues, we have emotional reasons or the food is front of us and it is yummy ;) . So what are something’s that we can do to help curb?
Plan out your day. If you have planned food and snacks throughout the day you are more likely to maintain a steady blood sugar level and your cravings will not be as bad. I personally found that if I am not hungry I am less likely to snack on the doughnuts that the boss brought in as a reward, or cake for someone’s Birthday.
Focus on what you are putting in your mouth. Before you take a bite, close your eyes and ask why am I eating this? See if you can figure out why you eat something? Is it you don’t think that you will succeed? Do it make you feel better? This is the time you need ask why I am changing my eating and working out. Is it because you have a history of illness in your family, is it because you are trying to be a good example to your kids and the people around you, do you want to look good on the beach? Whatever the reason I bet it is better than the piece of cake that you are about to eat.
I have planned and have focused but I can’t seem to stop myself!!! Get rid of it!!! If you can’t resist then it is time to throw it out. You will probably have family members that will complain but in the long run I think that they will be happier to have you around then those treats. With whatever you are doing moderation, constancy and habits are the key. It may difficult at first but if you stick with it you will get there!
TRANSFORMATION STORY OF THE WEEK
This is an absolutely AMAZING transformation! I want to give Justin a huge congratulations for the transformation he has achieved! I personally know this gentleman and he is a definite inspiration.
After the birth of his first child, Justin watched his wife lose all her baby weight and realized that he had to make some serious lifestyle changes if he wanted to be there for his family for years to come. Mr. Justin had worked himself hard with not one but two rounds of P90X and one round of Insanity. When those were completed, he used Tai Cheng to help him recover from the vigors of those workouts.
Justin is now down 121 lbs and UP $1,000 from the Beachbody Challenge! He is now setting up to do his third round of P90X to keep pushing forward on the bandwagon of results! Here is what he had to say!:
“My over all fitness level improved to heights I never thought I could reach. … Now I have ran two half marathons and will be running a third half marathon in a few months. My over all strength, conditioning and balance are the best they have ever been in my life. … Following the programs and nutrition there is no way you will not see results. I am now working to help others get fit and it is all because of the fire that Beachbody has lit in me.”

Daily Success 2/17/2013 – gym, cardio, spin, weights, and boot camp but only lost 10 lbs
Several years ago I decided to get healthy and lose weight. So I joined a gym and started doing cardio, spin, weights, and boot camp regularly—plus I revamped my diet. I lived this life for two years and only lost about 10 pounds. To say the least, I was pretty frustrated.
Then a friend was ranting on Facebook about this amazing product called Shakeology®. She gave me a sample and immediately I was hooked. It tasted great, curbed my cravings, and filled me up. But could it help me lose weight like it promised…or like all the other Beachbody Challenge winners claimed?
Being the doubter I am, I set out to see for myself.
I made the commitment to replace one meal a day with Shakeology, and within 6 months I lost 39 lbs. THIRTY-NINE POUNDS!!!! And the thing is, I didn’t change anything else in my life. I exercised the same. Ate the same. And lived the same. Now, I have incredible energy and stamina, feel fantastic, and I’m in the best shape of my life. This stuff really does what it says it’s going to do. I even got my wife to start drinking this stuff and she’s amazed how it’s transforming her life as well.
I have so much energy from Shakeology that I just finished the BikeMS and rode the Century Route, averaging 14.645 MPH in a 25 MPH wind, which I would of never dreamed of doing before Shakeology. I just had my blood work done and my doctor gave me a clean bill of health. I don’t need any medication, or need to take any vitamins or supplements to be healthy. I already AM healthy—thanks to Shakeology.
Shake’O (what I like to call it) gives my body what it needs. I love this product so much that now I’m a Beachbody Coach, telling the world about this life-changing meal. Thanks Beachbody, this stuff is great!

Motivation Morning 2/17/2012 – Remember that guy that gave up?
Daily Success 2/16/2013 – I was ashamed to look at any photos of myself
Before doing The Ultimate Reset®, I was ashamed to look at any photos of myself from the last five years. Half of my closet was full of clothes that didn’t fit anymore. My kids would make sly comments about my weight, or rub my belly like Buddha as they walked by. And my wife, Ruthie, simply didn’t look at me the way she used to. I couldn’t blame her; I looked nothing like the guy she married all those years ago.
So when my Coach told me about The Ultimate Reset, I agreed to give it a shot as a last-ditch effort to jumpstart my weight loss, as well as get that spark back in my wife’s eyes. But honestly, I didn’t think that a 21-day “diet” would make much of a difference. After all, it took years to put the weight on, so I figured it would take just as long to peel it off. But boy was I wrong.
During those 21 days on Reset my life completely changed! I lost 19 lbs., learned how to fuel my body with proper nutrition, and even discovered a few new healthy and delicious foods that are now part of my daily diet. And I’ve even started wearing some of the stuff in my closet that I couldn’t even fathom fitting into three weeks ago.
But just because I lost all that weight rather quickly doesn’t mean it was easy. My greatest challenge was believing that anything about me could change in just 21 short days. So when times got tough, Ruthie was right there, cheering me on, helping me plan and prepare my meals, and tracking my results. And my Challenge Group was crucial to my success as well. Everyone was so supportive and encouraging, and I never felt as if I was on this journey alone.

Now I’m 19 pounds lighter, but still have 13 more to go to reach my goal of 159. P90X is next on my agenda, which I couldn’t be more excited about. Before The Ultimate Reset, losing weight seemed like such a huge mountain to climb, but now I’ve realized that anything’s possible—I just had to believe in myself. And Beachbody, of course.

Daily Success 2/15/2013 – I was miserable. And I hated life.
I used to spend all my free time glued to the couch—watching TV, reading, or taking naps. I was fat. I was miserable. And I hated life. When my husband asked for a divorce last year, I hated life even more and completely lost my appetite. While starving myself did take off the pounds, one day I woke up and realized that I had to start eating right and exercising if I really wanted to get healthy. And that’s when my journey with Beachbody® began.
First I did TurboJam®, which really got my body moving. While I love weight training, I need lots of motivation to do cardio, which Chalene freely gave. This was a great beginner’s workout because it allowed me to see positive results very quickly while getting used to exercising again.
Next I gave INSANITY® a shot because I wanted to push myself and see what I was made of! During this time I started running and completed my 1st 5K in May 2012. INSANITY was the ultimate physical challenge—it was just me against my mind—and I was so proud of myself when I completed it.
Chalean Extreme® was the third program I chose to conquer. This one was great because it taught me how to lift weights without bulking up. Throughout this program, I continued training for my races, and the day after I ran the half marathon I started the Ultimate Reset®.
I chose the Ultimate Reset because even though I’d become an exercise fan over the past year, eating healthy was something I still struggled with. The Reset helped me stop eating sugar and processed foods, which enabled me to sleep so much better at night. And when I started drinking Shakeology® I realized I had found my missing link to nutrition. Shakeology curbed my cravings while giving me the energy I needed to push play everyday.
Though it all, my Challenge Groups were key to my success. The Challenge Group gave me the confidence I needed to step outside my comfort zone and achieve my goals. It has been my biggest cheerleader throughout this entire journey and I couldn’t have done it without challenge group support and belief in me! My Challenge Groups were great because they held me accountable each and every day, and were there for me when times got tough—which they did, a lot.

After completing all these Beachbody programs, I lost almost 80 lbs., went from wearing a size 16 down to a 4, and wore a bikini this summer for the 1st time in over 20 years. And while my physical achievements are fantastic, I’m most proud of the mental shift I made. I went from a total pessimist to a glass-half-full kind of person, and am totally loving life. I’ve never felt healthier or happier than I do right now, and I owe it all to Beachbody. Thanks!
