Prior to moving to the U.S. 3 years ago, I was skinny. But during my first 2 years here, I gained 20 lbs. and couldn’t lose the weight. Being overweight was not fun. It left me exhausted all the time, I felt horrible, and climbing one flight of stairs was a huge challenge.
Then one day I came across some BEFORE and AFTER pictures of an old friend who had lost weight with Beachbody and I couldn’t believe her amazing transformation. I called her up, she took me under her wing, and the next thing I knew, she was coaching me through Slim in 6®.
Even though Slim in 6 is a low-impact workout designed for beginners, since I hadn’t worked out in over 20 years, I only got through the 1st 14 minutes of the workout on my first day. But the more workouts I did, the stronger I got, and the easier they became. Sure there were times I wanted to quit, but my Challenge Group wouldn’t dare let me. They all were so supportive and motivating, and I think they often believe in me more than I did myself.
In addition to working out daily, I followed the menu my Coach prepared for our group, plus I replaced one meal a day with Shakeology®. I’m still amazed how incredibly quick and easy Shakeology is to make, and that a whole meal fits in just one glass. This stuff’s amazing!
Over the course of 6 short weeks, I lost 14 pounds, went from a size 9 pant to a 4, and replaced all my medium shirts with smalls or XS. I have so much more energy now than I’ve ever had, and even though I still have Osteopenia, my joint pain has completely subsided.
Not only did Beachbody give me a new body, they gave me the tools I need to live a healthy life. Now, my children are following in my footsteps and are eating healthy and exercising daily—which makes me so happy. But this is just the beginning of my heath and fitness journey. I recently started Chalene Extreme® and am excited about continuing to tone my body and live healthy. Thanks, Beachbody, for changing my life. Without you, I don’t know where I’d be.
