Daily Success 4/18/2013 – I was diagnosed with prostate cancer—then things just got worse

Before I began my health and fitness journey a year and a half ago, I was in ridiculously bad shape, and had been for quite some time. Eight years ago, at 42, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer—then things just got worse. By the time I was 47, my 5’ 9” frame was struggling to lug around 223 lbs., I was on high cholesterol meds and a CPAP machine for sleep apnea, had chronic knee problems, and was ALWAYS exhausted. All I’d do was work, eat, nap, watch TV, and sleep—day, after day, after day. But that hadn’t always been my life.

I used to be a personal trainer for a national health club chain for 2 years, and even served in the U.S. Marine Corps, graduating with honors from Boot Camp. But as the years passed, I indulged in all things unhealthy, and got fat and lazy. Then I watched a Marine buddy of mine on Facebook drop weight with P90X and thought that maybe, just maybe, Beachbody had a program that would fit into my busy schedule, and sure enough they did—it’s called 10 Minute Trainer, and it completely changed my life.

In the beginning, my workouts were only 10 minutes. But I worked my way up to doing 20-minute workouts, and before I knew it, I was exercising 30 minutes a day. And even though each session was short, the workouts were fun, challenging, and delivered results. I also started drinking Shakeology daily, which boosted my energy, gave me the nutrition my body so desperately needed, and it took away my cravings for junk food and sweets.

After just 3 months, I lost 40 lbs., ditched my high cholesterol meds, have tons more energy, my knees are better, and I no longer use a CPAP machine. Also, my thighs are slimmer, my butt’s smaller, and I finally have a six-pack—even Marine training couldn’t give me the rock-hard body 10-Minute Trainer enabled me to build.

Since completing 10-Minute Trainer, I’ve done The Ultimate Reset®, lost and additional 16 lbs. and lowered my cholesterol even further. But I didn’t stop there. I’ve also conquered Power 90®, Insanity®, and P90X® and have never been in better shape in my entire life. Now I’m a Beachbody Coach and run monthly Challenge Groups and a weekly Fit Club. I have several private and public Facebook groups and pages—all so I can help people with their health and fitness goals. Beachbody is such a huge part of my life and I couldn’t be happier.

Daily Success 2/20/2013 – I felt everybody was staring at the fat girl. So I didn’t go.

I used to hate going to the gym and working out in front of other people. I felt everybody was staring at the fat girl. So I didn’t go. And that left me out of shape, out of energy, and just about out of hope. At 242 lbs, I was completely disgusted with myself.

So I just gave up. I went into complete isolation and, yes, I was so low suicide was an option. I even had a plan. But I also had a friend who was a Beachbody Coach. And that might have saved my life.

My Coach, sat me down and we called to order 10-Minute Trainer together. I was glad he pushed me, but when the box arrived, l still wasn’t sold—until I actually broke down and tried it. It was amazing. 10-Minute Trainer got me up and moving.

The first week was hard, but I kept at it and slowly added a second 10-Minute workout every day. It was amazing. I had more energy and started to really feel the results. My pants were getting looser and people started noticing. So I started adding Shakeology to my day and my cravings went away. Plus I had more energy. With the workouts and Shakeology combined, I ended up losing 29 lbs. in the first 2 months.

Next, I did the Ultimate Reset and ended up losing an additional 13 lbs. By the end of the UR, I conquered my depression and life was great once again. I’m most proud of my weight loss (42 lbs. total!), and from all of the workouts, I learned one very important lesson I CAN DO IT!

 

Daily Success 1/8/2013 – After having 8 children, you could say I’ve always been a mom

1-Kimberly-TMT-RA-ShaOAfter having 8 children, you could say I’ve always been a mom. But I wasn’t always 110 lbs. overweight. No, that came from putting on 10 lbs. with each baby and never taking that weight off.

After cooking and cleaning (I do about 125 loads of laundry and over 100 loads of dishes EVERY month), home-schooling, and taking care of my husband—I just didn’t have anything left over for me… until this year.

When I saw Tony Horton with his 10-Minute Trainer workout—I said, maybe I can sneak away for 10 minutes. And I started. Soon 10 minutes became 20, and then 30, and I finished 10-Minute Trainer!!! I loved it.

But after all those babies, I decided it was time to attack my abs with RevAbs. So off I went. When I started, I had to modify. I gave birth EIGHT TIMES!!! There was NO WAY I could even consider jumping jacks. But by the end, I didn’t have to modify at all—I CAN do jumping jacks!

So far, I’ve lost 75 lbs. I give credit to 10-Minute Trainer, Rev-Abs and Shakeology. I drink Shakeology twice a day for several months. It cut cravings and gave me a good amount of protein and both start and end my day with.

Best of all, I am going to be a grandmother—at 49—next month. I used to look like a grandmother, but NOT ANYMORE! Now, I don’t even feel like a grandmother. And after all this time, I can fit into my wedding dress!!!!

Daily Success 1/7/2013 – When I started gaining weight, it was gradual at first.

When I started gaining weight, it was gradual at first. I went from 160 to 180 lbs. It didn’t feel like the end of the world, until I eventually found myself at 215 lbs. Three years later, I was so lost—as a woman, as a mother, and as a wife. I was so disgusted with myself.

To make matters worse, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries Syndrome, which made it difficult for me to lose weight. When I got pregnant, I found out, it also made it difficult for me to carry to term. I lost 3 pregnancies. No one could imagine how desperate I was feeling. I was dying inside.

Thankfully, my son got through to me. I had lost my own father when I was just 15 and he was only 39. I didn’t want my son to face the same loss, and if I didn’t do something quick, I was going to end up just like my dad.

I started eating healthier and went from 215 to 168 lbs. It took six months, but I did it. My coach encouraged me, posting before & after pictures to inspire me. And I began to believe that I could actually do it—that I could transform my body—inside and out.

Tony Horton’s 10-Minute Trainer was perfect for my life. I had two jobs, a child, a house to tend to and a sick husband who needed me. Ten minutes was all the time I had—but it was enough to make a difference. I lost another 21lbs.

My body has reacted positively to all the changes I’ve made. I’ve not only lost weight, but I look good. I feel sexy. I feel like a new person. Thank you Beachbody. Thank you Tony Horton. And thank you Coach. I couldn’t have done it without you.

Daily Success 12/18/2012 – Walker changed his life 10 minutes at a time!

At 35, I was nowhere near being seriously overweight, but I was tired of seeing my spare tire grow. I’d avoid the pool, or anywhere that I had to take my shirt off, and I couldn’t stand to look in the mirror and see the elastic band on my shorts fold over because my belly was so big! But with a demanding job and 2 young children, life was busy. Too busy, I thought, for exercise.

Then, a friend who’d lost a ton of weight with P90X told me about 10-Minute Trainer. So after having spent a few years contemplating a fitness routine, I figured that this was one I could commit to since it only took ten minutes a day. (delete And) After the first workout, I was hooked. The workouts were short, but intense, and the fat just melted away. I couldn’t believe how quickly I was transforming!

Now my stomach is flatter, my core is stronger, my arms are toned, my back pain is gone, and my posture is so much better. I sleep more soundly, have tons more energy, and am no longer ashamed to have my shirt off. Most of all, I love hearing people who haven’t seen me in a while say, “You look great. You’ve lost a lot of weight. What are you doing?” When I tell them, they can’t believe that I’ve built this physique in as little as 10 minutes a day.

If it weren’t for 10-Minute Trainer, I’d still be 30 pounds overweight and out of shape. Now I’m a “Lean TMT Machine”. And the best part is, none of my pants fit anymore!

Daily Success 12/7/2012 Using 10 minute trainer Brenda changed her life!
