Daily Success 2/4/2013 – With my wedding day fast approaching

With my wedding day fast approaching, I was determined to look spectacular! I was going to the gym, but I found myself stuck at a plateau… for about 6 months! With my wedding just around the corner, I was desperate. I needed to do something else—fast.

Especially since I had found this gorgeous dress that didn’t quite fit… yet. And believe me, that wedding dress turned out to be the best motivation. Because I was so stressed, I checked out several Beachbody workouts, but chose TurboFire… and found out it’s SUPER FUN!

I love the music, and I find Chalene Johnson to be such a great motivator. It keeps me going when she says, right in the middle of a workout; “You know what?! You are not tired! You are not tired!” She knows just what to say to get you to go that extra mile.

Once I started TurboFire, not only did I fit into that dress in no time, but I had to get it fitted because I’d lost so many inches so quickly. When that special day came, I felt beautiful and amazing in my wedding dress.

It’s been a year since I started on this journey and I can honestly say that TurboFire and Shakeology (it tastes delicious!) has been the greatest thing to happen to me—besides my husband of course! That’s why I became a Beachbody Coach! Paying it forward and being able to help others is the least I can do.

Daily Success 2/3/2013 – all I wanted to do was pretty much NOTHING

I have a very stressful and physically demanding job. So for years, when I’d come home from work, all I wanted to do was pretty much NOTHING so I could decompress. I convinced myself that veggin’ on the couch, playing video games, munching on candy bars, and gulping down sodas were all okay because I got plenty of physical activity at work and deserved to “relax” at home.

Yet, all my relaxing somehow packed on the pounds—and before I knew it I topped out at 230 lbs. I knew my wife was disappointed in me but she never said anything, I could just sense it. Then one day when she walked out on my “I just want to relax” monologue in silence, it finally hit me that I was disrespecting her and had to change—quick. That’s when I decided to try Tony Horton’s 10-Minute-Trainer®.

Honestly, I picked 10-Minute Trainer because I thought it was the easiest one (see, even after deciding to get in shape I still tried to take the easy road). I also chose it because I believed I had no time to work out, which was just another one of my many lame excuses. I had only planned to do one 10-minute workout a day, but by the end of the week I was feeling so great that I was up to two workouts per session. And before I knew it, I was doing three 10-minute workouts back-to-back—boy, was I addicted.

Now I’m stronger, my stamina has increased, and the weight is slowly-but-surely disappearing (so far I’ve lost 17 lbs.)! The video games and junk food have all been put away, my spring is back in my step, and overall I’m just happier. Plus, I feel more confident that I have my team members’ backs and am ready for anything that comes my way. For so many years I disregarded the fact that my inability to physically perform on the job could end in serious injury or death. Not only does my personal fitness level affect my safety, but the safety of my teammates, as well as the general public. I have to be alert and ready for anything that comes my way—not just sometimes, but all of the time.

Tony’s 10-Minute Trainer is a quality program that really works; regardless of what athletic level you’re at. With anything in life, you only get out of it what you put into it. So if you just listen to Tony and dig deep, YOU WILL GET RESULTS! I did, and couldn’t be more proud. I think my wife, and my teammates, would also agree.

Daily Success 2/2/2013 – At 30 I had never been more unhealthy or miserable

My dream was to be in the best shape of my life by the time I turned 30. But when that day arrived, I had never been more unhealthy or miserable. I was overweight, popped high blood pressure pills daily, and my cholesterol was out of control. I was a junk food junkie, never ate a home cooked meal, drank way too many beers every night, and was exhausted due to my sleep apnea. And it was only a matter of time before I became a diabetic—just like my father—who died at 50 from a heart attack.

It would have been easy to blame my poor health on my DNA because all the men in my family died somewhere between their late 30’s and early 50’s due to health related issues. But the reality was, we all did it to ourselves. And I didn’t want to accept their fate as my own. I wanted to live a long, healthy life, full of good memories and exciting adventures—so when a P90X® infomercial came on TV one night, I didn’t even think twice before picking up the phone.

My goal with P90X was to get lean and toned while building up my endurance so I could do a half marathon, as well as run competitively in local 5K races. And after 90 days of pushing play, my life completely changed. I can now do 25 pull-ups without stopping, run 10+ miles several times a week, and finally have that six-pack I’ve always wanted. My cholesterol had dropped significantly and I’m finally off those high blood pressure meds. I cook healthy, low-cal meals every single day, have tons of energy, and have never felt or looked better.

When people see the new me, they’re in complete awe over my weight loss and want to know my “secret”. While P90X might have been my “secret weapon”, there’s no real secret to losing weight and getting in shape. It’s as simple as eating right and working out—every single day. And I’m proud to say, my transformation has inspired tons of friends, family, and co-workers to make better lifestyle and health decisions.

I’m so excited for the future and what’s coming next. I absolutely love who I am now and never want to be that person I was a few months ago. Now I know, I can accomplish ANYTHING I want when I put my mind to it. Thanks Beachbody.

Daily Success 2/1/2013 – I asked my husband if I could have liposuction

I finally came to the point where I asked my husband if I could have liposuction because I was feeling so disgusted with myself. I was absolutely miserable. I hated to go clothes shopping because I could never find anything in my size. I had no energy. I was depressed. And I was getting bigger every day.

Luckily, my husband ran across an old friend (who is now my BB Coach) who was always posting on Facebook about how much weight she was losing with P90X and Shakeology.

My husband didn’t want me to get liposuction, so he proposed that we get the program and the shake. At first, my greatest challenge was just keeping up. Just doing the warm-up left me gasping for air. But thanks to my husband, and my Coach, I kept with it.

When I started seeing the pounds melt away, I knew I could do this, so I just continued to Press Play. I went from pausing during the warm-up to getting through the entire workout without stopping!!!

I lost 65 pounds and built muscle, which I never had. I went from never being into fitness to now owning almost every Beachbody workout. I work out every day. I eat healthy. I do Mud Runs. And I can play all-out with my kids. My life has changed so much for the better and now I’m paying it forward by helping others become healthy and fit.

When I started, I was hoping that one day my kids would look at me and be proud. P90X made that happen!
